The Cruquius Museum tells the never-ending story of the Haarlemmermeer.

Marvel at the power of 19th-century steam technology and the centuries-long battle against the water. The Cruquius Museum tells the story of the reclamation of the Haarlemmermeer, the “Delta Works of the 19th century”. The highlight of every visit is the demonstration of the world’s largest steam engine. Next to De Cruquius Pumping Station stands the new Polder Pavilion. From the outside, the rust-brown steel façade appears to undulate like the waters of the former Haarlemmermeer. Inside, you’ll find the treasure trove of Haarlemmermeer’s heritage, featuring unique artefacts, photographs, films and an interactive water map.

Auditorium

The auditorium overlooks the De Cruquius Pumping Station and is fully equipped with a projector, Wi-Fi, a flipchart and comfortable seating. The room can be divided into a small and a large hall.

It is therefore possible to combine the event with a visit to the museum.

Catering is in good hands with the operator of the Oude Theehuis.
